Join us for the course A New Approach to Oral Pathology with Ashleigh Briody, DDS, MS
This lecture on Friday November 8, 2025 will provide up to 6 hours CE credit in Oral Medicine, Oral Diagnosis, Oral Pathology (AGD Subject Code 730)
After a brief head and neck exam review, this course will cover common entities in oral pathology. Similar entities will be presented side by side, with differences shown to emphasize how to tell them apart. Discussion will include how to recognize precancerous lesions, malignancies and immune- mediated diseases, as well as when to treat, how to treat, and when to refer. The session also includes common radiographic findings with comparisons and interesting cases, going more in depth regarding common pathoses and treatment options.
Upon completion of this session, attendees should be able to:
• Confidently perform a head and neck/oral cancer screening exam.
• Differentiate benign lesions from precancerous and malignant lesions.
• Recognize key features that will help tell similar-appearing conditions apart

Join us this Friday for the first course of the 2024/2025 season. Professor Karen Baker will present Hot Therapeutic Topics for the Dental Team: From Weed to Weight Loss!
Professor Karen Baker has been on the Dental College faculty at the University of Iowa for over 40
years and occupies a unique role in dental practice and education. She is a clinical pharmacist with a
Master’s degree in clinical pharmacology and therapeutics and is focused on patient-specific dental
drug therapy. She has given well over 1000 invited programs nationally and internationally and holds
memberships in many dental and clinical pharmacology and therapeutics organizations. Her
dental education-based pharmacy and drug therapy consultation center is the only one in the United
States. She has authored many articles and abstracts and lectures extensively in pre-doctoral and graduate
courses at the University of Iowa.
Rescheduled Clear Aligner Course April 26
Join us on April 26 for the rescheduled course on Clear Aligners with Dr. Regina Blevins.
Dr. Blevins started her career in dentistry in 1980 as a Dental Hygienist. She received her DDS in 1987 from the University of Michigan, and her Master’s Degree in Orthodontics from the University of Minnesota in 1991.
Dr. Blevins is co-owner of an orthodontic practice with 13 locations and is adjunct faculty in the orthodontic department at the University of Minnesota. She has authored white papers on Early Treatment with clear aligners and helped develop Invisalign First.
Her professional memberships, awards, and associations include:
· American Association of OrthodontistsMinnesota Association of Orthodontists (2013-2014 vice president)
· Minnesota Association of Orthodontists (2014-2015 president)
· #1 Invisalign Provider in Minnesota and #1 provider of Teen treatment worldwide
